Couch Street

"One of Sunshine's best streets"

After a year of looking for houses all over Sunshine, we bought a home in Couch St. Couch St is one of the best locations in Sunshine - it's so close to everything: parks, trains, buses, milk bar, shops and Sunshine Rd (the secret road of the west!). The street has a nice mix of families living in it, there's next to no through traffic (speed humps too) and there's some really lovely houses!

Hi Elkie,

I hope you haven't been waiting this long to find a good pizza place, as it's been 6 mths since your post, and I would die if I went without pizza that long..... anyway, Our favourite is Speedys pizza 9364 9230, Ballarat Rd, home delivered once a week!! We love it... they know us so well, they ask if we are having the "usual"... lol....
I hope you get this message, and give them a go!!

Your neighbour, from Chapman St :)

Sunshine

"Get in now before its too late"

My partner and I moved to Sunshine from an inner city bayside suburb a year back. In Sunshine we were able to buy a period home within 10 minutes walk from the train station (zone 1), 5 minutes walk to the local park/tennis courts and less than 10 minutes drive into Footscray or Yarraville. Sunshine is only 12 kilometres from the city (that's the same distance as Box Hill from the CBD) yet the real estate is so undervalued! We like our neighborhood - it's really multicultural, and there are good community services (heaps of schools and lovely local swimming pool) and excellent public transport. The only thing it's really missing is a good pizza restaurant!
I would highly recommend buying in Sunshine!

Yes I like living in Sunshine too. So multicultral and people are mostly sweet and humble. I agree there is not much in the way of restaurants but luckily we are not far from Yarraville, Willie or if going to Willie might as well go into city as it really is quite close (after the peak hour traffic dies) - ie going in for dinner (weeknight even better)

Spent a lot of time in sunshine and Braybrook going to school there. I was a much safer and quieter area 10+ years ago. The increase of government housing has made sunshine into a geto at nights and certain areas a bit seedy during the day. Yes there are many facilities and the pool is great however the crime rate in the area is deffinatelly a big let down. As time goes on it's getting worse. My wife had a kinfe pulled out on her and mugged at lunchtime in the centre of Sunshine. It's the pits
