Heidelberg West
"Just moved in and pleasantly surprised!!"
Like most people we thought of the suburb as "Dodgy" but it was the only place left (northern suburbs) that is affordable and has great investment opportunity. We used to live on Liberty Parade in Ivanhoe, literally across bell street. That pocket is safe as anything but townhouses are selling for mid to high 800K. Jump across bell street to Ebony Parade and we get a big block 600+ M2 for 450k. So far so good. Of course there is a mix of young professionals and riff raff but it will certainly change with the blocks being subdivided for new units and homes being renovated. Not to mention council is selling off commission flats. Only time will tell.
