Werribee

"Peaceful with plenty to do"

I was born and raised in Werribee, and I know there will be some people who will disagree with me saying that it is "peaceful". It's really only around the train station where you will frequently see a group of teenagers smoking, but doesn't necessarily mean they are doing anything wrong. Or there might be a group of teenagers who walk around the streets at night, but mind their own business, like they do around my street. I have never had any problems when it comes to crime. I have never once in my whole life living in Werribee, felt unsafe, which is good.
Werribee is quite large, and downtown there are plenty of shops - clothing, cafes, take-away, restaurants, etc. Werribee is growing rapidly and there are plenty of jobs around without having to travel into the city each day. We are about 40-50 minutes train ride, or 20-30 minutes drive from the city.
We have the Werribee Plaza with over 230 stores (such as Kmart, Big W, Myer, JB Hi Fi, Coles, Woolies etc) in and around the shopping centre, as well as a Village Cinemas. The plaza will soon expand its size to become like Highpoint. Then we have the Werribee Open Range Zoo, Mansion, Park, and State Rose Garden to provide plenty of fun and entertainment for children and families. There's the Werribee River if you want to go canoeing and exploring. The Werribee South beach is not far from town, and we also have the Werribee Golf Course.
The western suburbs tend to have a bad reputation, but I think those are mostly inner-western, and western suburbs. Werribee is in the south west. I think the further out you go, the safer and more peaceful it is.
All in all, Werribee is safe, great for families, cheap, and is half way between Melbourne and Geelong.
