Johnston Street

"Johnston Street is an absolute joy!"

I've lived here for a while now, and I have no desire to move whatsoever. It's a dream street. The neighbours in my apartment block are fantastic. Whenever I have parties, I always make sure to notify them, and they always understand. I guess it's a mutual respect thing, as I am always cool when they have people over and want to make a little noise. Don't get me wrong, it's a very quiet street, just saying the neighbors are very understanding and fantastic! You don't get much road noise here either as it is a fair way off Bay Street.

It's a little expensive, but that's because we are pretty close to the beach, and a lot of the apartments have beach views.

Weekends are a joy, walking along the beach in the summer months. I also love the "everyone knows everyone" feel. Not just in my apartment block, or even street, but just the whole of Port Melbourne.

I would highly recommend this street to anyone looking to live in Port Melbourne.

Port Melbourne

"Small town living in a resort feel locaiton."

Lived in Port Melbourne for almost 5 years now and I have only great things to say about. I've lived all around Melbourne, Balwyn, Brunswick, Hampton and I have finally found the best place for me.

I love the lifestyle of the beach in Summer and best of all I love the friendly people here. A lot of people think Port Melbourne is a bit snobbish, but I disagree. All the locals here are incredibly friendly, and always have big smiles on their faces.

I wouldn't recommend raising a family here, I think there are better suburbs like Middle Park right next door, but if you are young or perhaps a young couple looking for a nice first apartment, then Port Melbourne would be right up your alley.

The only negatives I would say are the annoying motorcycles that race along Beach Street and Bay Street. But it's a very minor issue.

Enjoy the sun!
