Commercial Road sounds like a busy thoroughfare, but it is quite the opposite. Access is blocked to through traffic. There is a gorgeous old bluestone public primary school on the corner right at the end of the street. The wide street is lined with established elm trees and there is plenty of grass and nearby parkland.Most of the houses are ornate victorians. It is within walking distance to Footscray restaurants, and historical Footscray park and Flemington racecourse. Having lived here for 2 years, I couldn't recommend it highly enough - undoubtedly the best street in Footscray.
