Forest Lake

"Beautiful Forest Lake"

I've lived in Forest Lake since 2003. I am raising four children here. Our local school - Forest Lake State School is excellent. I have heard that St Johns Anglican College is very good, as is Grand Ave State School. There are two highschools to choose from also. Childcare in the area is great with options of day care centres and family day carers (my personal favourite). Forest Lake is a great place for everyone of every age and lifestyle to live. The people are friendly, the shopping is handy (and now with Coles and Target - even better).

I love Forest Lake for the family friendly parks, walking tracks and playgrounds. The lake is a beautiful place to picnic and spend time with friends and family.

Internet is great - I get ADSL2 and the speed is excellent.

The only downside that I will list is the crime. Depending on where you live in Forest Lake you may be affected differently. Whilst living in Homestead Village, my house was burgled 3 times and my car twice (once the window was completely smashed). In Creekwood, where I lived for 4 years, we were not burgled once (however a neighbour was). In Centennial Park, my car was broken into twice.

People jokingly call Forest Lake - Forest Break (or Inala Heights). I don't know what crime statistics are like in other suburbs, but we did take a bit of a beating for a while there.

I love Forest Lake. Rental prices are getting a little less affordable, but I'd love to stay here as long as I can. Just a note, renters take just as good care of the homes they rent as home owners. We all have the capacity to take pride in our homes (or to be slovenly) so please don't judge people just because they rent.
