Bibra Lake

"Difficult to find a nice looking place away from powerlines"

The lake itself is beautiful and the local playground is massive. There are always families here, riders, joggers. There's a great community here and an active social committee. My only complaint was we couldn't find a house we liked within our price range. The places for sale faced massive powerlines and generators. If you get a good street you're golden. Not too far from South St and fway entrance.

"Close to the river"

I grew up here. Beautiful spot that has improved in leaps and bounds since I was a lad.
Close to the river with plenty of parks. Some new cafes and eateries popping up.
Not trendy but quiet and safe. Family oriented.
The good streets are expensive now, but worth it.
Not that easy to get to the freeway (about 30 min from the city).

Atwell

"Great, northbound fway needs work"

I love Atwell, we've been here for 2 years now.
We moved into a quiet cul-de-sac and it is still quiet.
Our street is very friendly. The street behind us is a bit dodgy and we have had some issues with lazy dog owners. The council has been helpful about 50% of the time but there are still issues.
The suburb seems to have been built around the local flora and fauna. As a consequence (in a good way) there are lots of well established reserves and trees.
It is a very family oriented place. We would like to see more people our age around, as it is mostly families in their 40s-50s with adult children (in Old Atwell) or with younger kids (in New Atwell).
It's close to Cockburn Central which means great food and shopping is available. Some of our favourite restaurants are here (we've lived in Perth for 30 years).
Easy access to the freeway, but does get busy, and the freeway north entrance is chokkas at ALL times of day.
Approx 25 minutes from Freo and the City.
Our only complaint is that it's not West Leederville or East Perth. Nevertheless it's a good place to start.

"No go"

I lived here approx 2 years ago so this review may be outdated.
This suburb is reasonably close to the city but access to the freeway is time consuming.
Air traffic over the suburb was horrendous.
The local shop is run down and expensive. The closest woolies and coles are in Riverton.
There was an amazing tavern here for a while with cheap drinks, food and live music. It was knocked down 6 mo after I moved in and replaced with a new housing development.
Be very careful where you move to as even the nicer parts are backed onto by dodgy areas. Barking dogs and parents screaming at their children were common.
I did not feel safe here at night.
