Annandale

"Great place to live"

Fantastic family location. Best school in Townsville is the local PUBLIC Annandale Primary School. The Ross River walk way is fantastic for family bike rides look out for the "turtle bridge" just ask a local they are really friendly. Remember the mozzie repellent local pharmacist will advise the best (Ross River virus and Dengue Fever are transmitted by mosquito bite) My family stayed in Annandale for years and had no problems with RRV or DF. Make sure the children and pets dont play with the cane toads..they are toxic. Dont forget to check out the local strand theres a great water park for the littlies.

"Used to be an amazing place"

(Check with local police) your insurance premiums will go up due to rate of breakins. Paying extra for security will be money well spent. If you have any urgent medical problems expect to be flown out via air ambulance. Most ongoing medical problems will require a trip to Adelaide to see a specialist very few visit Lincoln. Education and prospects are not very good. BUT its what you want to make of it. For all the cons I still love the place. Tuna farms WELL what was once pristine Boston Bay is now sadly polluted with obvious blue line retraction that locals can see (shame the researchers can't). I still love the place.

"Select your area carefully"

Friendly retirement place with narrow streets FEW FOOTPATHS and FEW BUS SHELTERS. During school holidays its impossible to find a park. Absolutely nothing in the way of nightlife. Internet acess is frequently oops servers down again.Medical facilities are on the improve. Certain areas will cost extra in insurance ie Clifton area including all of the Bulkhead Newmarket Grove side possibly due to the high rate of breakins (check at the local police station for best info). If you have a dog or cat this is a high risk area for paralysis ticks BE WARNED dont miss the tick drops every fortnight. The vets have a thriving bussiness in tick antitoxin treatment. VERY EXPENSIVE and can be fatal. Schools are pretty good, professionals ie Doctors and Dentists send children to St Columba, others choose either catholic or public. Eating outs not bad some places are overpriced for what they offer. THE WEATHER IS USUALLY FANTASTIC.thats why I stay oh and the roses flower year round.
