Collingwood Park

"Safety hazard"

Unfortunately we lived in the area and found it to largely unsafe. We are not talking about crime, although there is crime in the area. We are talking about environmental.

Many of the homes had been poorly designed and thrown together to save on costs. There are serious mold issues in some areas as well as construction issues. The ground is constantly moving that caused cracks and parts of our roof to cave in.

We heard of an elderly couple who nearly had their roof collapse onto them from the ground shifting. No compensation whatsoever despite numerous efforts with the council.

It’s a toxic environment for anyone with allergies or asthma. Stay away from the area around Kruger state school which is home to a large landscaping and fertiliser business operating 7 days a week right in the middle of residents. There must be more than a hundred piles different types of fertilisers, mulches, cements, compost, sand and whatever else. Residents complain permanently but nothing has been done about it for years. The tippers stir the materials into their air and there is a permanent foul odor, not to mention the constant sneezing, watery eyes and sore throats every time we are in the area. I feel sorry for the children in that school who breathe it in every day.

Probably the worst suburb we have lived in, sorry to say. We are very glad to have left.

Would recommend doing research following reading this post as it does not reflect Collingwood Park as the school falls in Bellbird park suburb.
