Crestmead

"A review of Crestmead"

In my opinion of living in Crestmead, I find much more ant problems than any other suburb that I have lived in or visited in the Brisbane area. My neighbours also have thesame problem, in fact, it is an entirely suburb issue. The ants enter the houses, make nests inside the walls, and even under the tiles! No matter what chemicals you try to use, these little buggers are resilient to them so you have to be careful about leaving food on the table even for short periods of time because they will find it.
There is a huge local problem with young teens and young adults hooning up and down the street on illegal bikes and quads at all times of day and night, and some neighbours ( a few doors down from me) there are parties constantly, so the boom boom sound hammers into the deepest part of your brain until the party stops at around 2.30am.
For dining out. It's a joke. There are only 2 shops in crestmead, one on Julie street, the other behind the primary school. Either way, the elderly will find it very difficult to buy groceries unless they can get to the bus, which can only be accessed from Julie/Truslon rd/Bumstead rd. This is a massive problem, because it can take up to 20 minutes just to walk to the street that has a bus stop.
Overall, Crestmead is the worst suburb to live in for peace of mind from pests and noise.

JJJ1 it seems ur having a terriable time in crestmead, my husband and i have been living here 2 years now and raising a young family, lucky we dont have a ant problem, but i do agree with alot of young adults, but when we first moved here, the illegal bikes and quads were doing my head in, i was seriuiosly thinking about buying a shot gun and sit outside and wait for the little pricks. but i think the community have come together to get rid of them, because the past 4 months, my husband and i have not heard one single bike, we live on paperbark st and its been really quite. Paperbark st is a really quite street, in the 2 years we have been here there has not been one single party or loud music..and my neighbours are fantastic. i guess it just depends where in crestmead u are in. we live right next to waratah shops and there is the best fish and chip shop in brisbane down there, the one next to foodworks..fantastic seafood, great service!! crestmead is great for a couple starting off in the property market..houses are cheap, and ur only 25 mins away from brisbane.

I'm sorry you have found Crestmead such an awful place to live. I have lived here for over 8 years in 3 different areas of Crestmead, this house for the past 4. I have found it to be a great place to raise my son. He has gone to the local primary school and is currently enrolled in the local High school. So many great opportunities there to give our kids a boost in life. Yes we have had some pains in the ass with the dirt bikes but you know what? So has my Mum in Heritage Park. All suburbs have their stains on society but your neighbourhood is what you make of it. Your neighbours are as good to you as you are to them. As for the ants? Haven't had a great deal of trouble here,I have managed to keep on top of them and found a spray that actually works, but trust me when I tell you this, ALL areas are having difficulty with them at the moment.

While I didn't mind living in Crestmead . We also had problems with the ants entering the house. Found it quite noisy with barking dogs and neighbours yelling and screaming at all hours. (Blackbutt St)
I mean a lot of screaming.
On a whole our direct neighbour was lovely and we used to visit and have dinner there. Never any issues with break ins.
