"Ideal for young 20s year olds if you like a nice suburb but not grunge like richmond"

Young vibe if your living in apartments here. Recently brought an apartment for my son who attends swinburne university. Reason why I brought it? Convenient inner east, close to shops and easy to get to university and the city and public transport. Plus easy to rent if he doesnt want to live here anymore.
Would I live here myself? No, not really since I'm in my late 50s however unless it was an apartment block of other older people I can have conversations with but then again, I prefer some greenery.

Camberwell

"Camberwell- over priced for unfriendly sleepy neighbours of old retirees or empty homes"

Retired place for those 55+. Sleepy neighborhood. Camberwell junction people dont have money unless they brought property in the 20yrs ago during the boom and living off their wealth of the housing boom. Not affluent at all. Not much to do either.

Moonee Ponds

"Council too strict on new developments & entertainment"

There is a die hard need of change in Moonee ponds, growing up here as a high school I have seen the history of it all.
The ATO tax office is right in the area so you see alot if government workers on their daily break at lunch God knows if they are even efficient enough since they always to be at a few cafes downstairs.
Lots of new apartments are popping up and cafes and restaurants to cater for the new generation.
If only council would approve of an entertainment complex/movie theatre we are in need of! Otherwise theres always a drive to highpoint shopping centre or airport west for movies....

Essendon

"If we had Liberal MP I would probably be happier instead of Labor"

My honest review of the area is that The value of the area would be risen higher if our MP was Liberal instead of Labor. Current Labor MP does nothing to help small businesses in the area & infranstructure which is substantial for our communities to grow.
Alot of period style old homes that needs to be renovated along with an older demographic 35+60s.
Essendon train station needs to up their lines, constant train delays getting into work in the CBD. If the trains are not running then the only other way is to catch the tram which is absolutely horrandous during peak hour as there is only one every half an hour and always packed to the max because it's coming down the same line. Be on the lookout for missing a few trams and trains to work.

If you dont like going into the city and want to own your own business in the area, great but then more support should be provided to promote businesses in the inner north-west to survive and that is something the current MP not paying attention too. Essendon primary school is overcrowded if your in the public system and if you want your kids in private school penleigh & essendon grammar has a bit of a waitlist. Had to send my kids to Wesley college in the city.

Mixture of business owners, teachers, construction + trades, white collar workers live in this area.

Um, trams run every 5-8 mins during peak hour, not every 30 mins. Always have.
Agree. the trains are overcrowded and there are often cancellations.
And feel free to move if you dislike it so much.

Lmao, wants a liberal MP then talks about wanting to have more funding for public infrastructure.
