"Living in Laurimar for two years and love every minute of it"

There's a few estates in Doreen. We live in the Laurimar Estate. Even before you drive into Laurimar town centre you automatically feel a sudden peace as you see the majestic old red gums standing tall against the flat grazing land as they have for hundreds of years. We have been living here for more than 2 years having moved here from the Hills district in Sydney and wanted something similar in terms of dwelling size and family friendly demography. We bought a large 4 bedroom home complete with a double garage, 2.5 baths, an afresco entertainment area and modern everything. The neighbours are friendly many with young families of their own and everybody's front lawn is neat and tidy (reminds me of the neighbourly-themed Hollywood movies). The suburb is nestled between Plenty Rd and Yan Yean Rd which are both being upgraded now which we are really looking forward to because it will mean faster drives to the city and other nearby bigger shopping centres such as Doncaster Westfield (reminds me of Chatswood), Greensborough Plaza (reminds me of Castle Towers) and Plenty Valley Westfield (similar to Hornsby). Newly built Mernda station takes you into the city in less than 60mins and run frequently. Demography is mainly Caucasian here but no racism. The estate has numerous well maintained playgrounds for the kids and pets to enjoy and several large ovals for sports and activities. There are several small restaurants and takeaways of all types of cuisines which are of above average quality which is enough for us because fine dining isn't exactly easy when you have small children.

My favourite thing about Doreen/Laurimar is my house. I love my house.
