Fort Hamilton

"Fort Hamilton - An Extension of Bay Ridge"

Fort Hamilton is often considered part of Bay Ridge. It is accessible by the R Line at: Bay Ridge Avenue, 77th Street, 86th Street and Bay Ridge – 95th Street.

The bike path from the pier at Bary Ridge Ave to Bay Parkway is a local favorite for Sunsets and views of the Verrazano Bridge and Downtown. Shore Park offers a plethora of outdoor activities including baseball, dog runs and tennis.

Greenwood

"A Brooklyn Neighborhood"

Greenwood/ Greenwood Heights

I love Greenwood. This is a neighborhood that offers accessibility to all of the amenities Park Slopers have learned to love, with the added benefit of a quieter neighborhood feel. Housing is a mix of woodframe townhouses and condo buildings. Street parking is not impossible. Accessible to the F Train.

Parks: The Slope Park playground, at 18th Street and Sixth Avenue, was renovated in 2013 and now hosts a number of events including The GreenWood CSA pick up site. The 478-acre Green-Wood Cemetery, offers historic sites, walking tours, bird-watching and many public events each year. Prospect Park and Sunset Park, which has a public outdoor pool, are nearby.

Eat: Toby's Public House serves delicious brick-oven pizza. Lot 2, serves New American cuisine; be sure to leave room for dessert, Lot 2 features a pastry chef not to be missed. Korzo, on Fifth Avenue, serves Central European food and is home to Burger Land 2013 Best Burger and Village Voice 2011 Best Burger. Visit Coffee shops Southside Coffee, on Sixth Avenue, and Roots Cafe, on Fifth.

Entertainment: Greenwood Park is a 13,000 square foot indoor / outdoor restaurant, bar and beer garden created out of an old gas station & mechanic shop with 60 beer tap lines, an indoor bar, an outdoor cargo bar and 3 bocce ball courts.

Fun Fact:
Greenwood Cemetery is home of Battle Hill, the highest point in Brooklyn.
