Tarneit

"A great place to raise a family"

We have been in Tarneit since it first started evolving, about 11 years now. During that time we have seen it progress to a lovely suburb, quiet, tidy with lovely new houses and family orientated people. Not suitable if you want to be close to pubs and clubs however there are many accessible restaurants nearby on Watton Street and Point Cook. The coast is easily accessible and so is the city. Great for families, good community and lovely neighbours, we have never had any problems. Good choice of schools and nearby shops. Real estate has doubled in value in the past 10 years and we will have two train stations and freeway even closer with new plans. If you are are after a good size block and a peaceful family life in a clean new suburb, this is the place to be!

Great for

  • 30 minutes from city
  • New house
  • Parksand Recreations and child care centers
  • Railway Station under construction
  • Plenty of Schools

Who lives here?

  • Professionals
  • Singles
  • Families with kids
  • Retirees
  • Tourists
  • LGBT+
  • Students
  • Country Lovers
  • Trendy & Stylish
  • Beach Lovers

Im just wondering if you are in a older style home in Tarneit?? Good size blocks? Im sorry are you kidding? 400m2 or 500m2 is good? It is tiny once you add the house then the back yard is next too nothing. You cant even fit a swimming pool in. If you want to you would want to have no back yard at all.
For new houses that are going for 400k to 500k which some are in Tarneit that are on 700m2. Not much room at all to move compaired to the older style homes.!
Also you say pros are child-care centres there is only like 2-3 child care centres and one of them is Sunkids which i would never recommend!
I think this area is good if you love to be woken up by your neighbours because you can hear everything they are saying in their own home or you can hear their loud bass music! The homes are lovely yes neighbours not so and also what these new homes are made out of is just crap! You shouldnt hear every little thing in a brand new home that is made out of Bricks.

* Please dont think im having a go at you but really the tarneit area has sadly gone a little down hill and is getting over ran by other people which dont make it all that family friend*

Sad to hear that you feel that way about Tarneit. We are just going by our personal experience and we have never had any loud neighbours! Yes we built our home 11 years ago and our block and home is much larger than what is on offer today however if you compare the homes in tarneit with other new areas e.g caroline springs, point cook, etc you will find that the blocks in Tarneit are still bigger. In regards to the quality of the walls, I can't comment because we have not had that problem. As Tarneit is so close to hoppers and werribee there is an abundant choice of child care centres within a 5 minute drive and the same applies for schools but I guess if you need a child care centre within walking distance, then that would be hard to find. We have raised our children here and been lucky enough to have had a good run, I guess as the area gets bigger and the population expands we will need more child care centres. We live on a quiet court where all the kids go out to play cricket on the street when its sunny and the neighbours get together for a few glasses wine so can't complain. Life is good :)
