Seabrook

"What a mistake - finally got out"

Having built in the area approx 8 years ago, we loved the look of the area and we were convinced that it would be a great place to raise a family and still be able to commute to our Melbourne City for work. And initially it was, however over the past 3-4 years the build up of homes and complete disregard for infrastructure has meant that Seabrook and Point Cook area have become unlivable if you work in the city.

It would take me at least 45-minutes just to get out of the suburb - every day!!! . . . completely ridiculous! The train option is also useless as the platform is packed by 7:30am and you'll be lucky to get on a train before 8:20am.

Now that we have sold up and moved on, we are so much more relaxed and happier.

My advice - don't buy in if you work outside this small pocket.

Not great for

  • Peak hour traffic
  • No decent cafes
  • No decent restaurants
  • Internet access can be trouble at times.

You are the odd one out mate. I am wondering why you suddenly have all these bad comments on this suburb that you've lived for 8 years after you have decided to leave ... I never had any problems with the traffic you get it everywhere in Melbourne in peak hours mate. and your 45 mins wait is clearly not true.
