Carlisle

"Currently renting...."

We have so far been here for about 6wks, and love it! its close to everything! I cant say much on schools as my little one is too young. It does get busy in peak hours, traffic wise but what suburb doesnt! I dont know much about crime but I havent had any problems in our street (Mars street) at all! love it!

Great for

  • Close to everything
  • Great public transport
  • Fantastic shopping close by

Not great for

  • Crime depends on what street your in (so I'm told)

  • Singles
  • Families with kids

Ellenbrook

"4 yrs living in Ellenbrook...."

I built a house in Ellenbrook and lived there 4 yrs and quite enjoyed it! I have a small child so was quite involved in toy libraries, playgroups, play centres etc and found them all fantastic! the people are very friendly and its a place that is very easy to make friends.
It's very family orientated and has a crazy amount of parks for the kids.... we spent a few mths going to at least one new one a week and still didn't get to see them all!
The shopping side of things have improved greatly from when we first built there... it now has most of the big shops such as coles, woolies, big W etc and its only going to get bigger and better within the next few yrs.
Like any suburb though there are good and bad areas, and we lived in a very new area (coolamon) and had no trouble, but I have heard the older areas (such as near IGA) are quite bad with crime etc...
You just have to pick and choose where you live thats all!
The only thing it lacks I think is transport with the nearest train line being a good 30mins away!

Great for

  • Fantastic parks,
  • Family orientated,
  • Clean
  • Community feel
  • Proximity to the Swan Valley

Not great for

  • Lack of public transport,
  • Not much for young teenagers to do,
  • One fuel station

Who lives here?

  • Families with kids
  • Retirees
