"A great suburb burdened by an outdated reputation"
Everyone knows the reputation that Sunshine has. The joke about "Scumshine" has been done to death. Sure, there are some rough edges but Sunshine has changed dramatically in recent years. The upgrade of the train station, rejuvenation of the town centre, and with more and more families moving in the suburb is deep into a transition into a better place to live and grow.
My only major gripe is the distinct lack of cafes anywhere outside of the town centre. Having them throughout the streets would be amazing.
If you're going to judge a place based on what you have heard from others, people who don't live here, or your own prejudices: grow up.

The community did not make it scumshine, its wrong to judge the suburb by that scummy main street. That street Hampshire road is scumstreet.
The businesses are fantastic. The community made it "Scumshine". Have you seen how some people in this community treat others who are minding their own business? That's why it will always be known as "Scumshine" sadly.
