My family and I are wanting to make a move from Sydney. I did notice that you made a point of stating that there are certain cultural groups and migrants. I am wondering if people in North Lakes are only accepting of Anglo Australians.

Hi can you be more specific as to what cultural groups and migrants there is? We are of a Pacific Islander background and looking into moving to North lakes next year, I wonder if there are any Pacific Islander groups or a mixture of islander nationalities that attend the local state college or high school etc.

North Lakes is as multicultural as anywere else in Brisbane and Brisbane is as Multi-cultural as Melbourne. There weren't less Migrants settled in Brisbane than other Capitals for instance. There is a strong Pacific Islander presence in Moreton Shire as there is in coastal Queensland in general. Kallangur next door I know has a strong Fijian community . Redcliffe has lots of Kiwi's as well as Pacific Islanders also I think Pethik was being racist when he/she was mentioning "certain cultural groups and migrants" So there is at least one racist to avoid.

Sunshine Coast is almost white a few Asians. Brisbane houses look fugly

Moreton Shire isnt the sunshine coast and coastal Queensland itselfe is far from lilly white. It has more Aboriginals ,Most of the T.I.'s, more Indians and definitely at least as many Asians, Pacific Islanders and Kiwi's as the Southern States in General, so Nah! Yes, Brisbane Suburbs are as Ugly in general as Melbourne Suburbs, but North Lakes is Just not one of the ugly ones. North Lakes is not west Chermside and Moreton Shire might be a lot of things but Ugly ( apart from west Kallangur,"O.M.G!, what have they done") is not one of them! You've obviously never been there !
