"Gin Gin - Quaint town with a bit of history, good to stop and rest."

Gin Gin is 51 kms from Bundaberg and the area is known as Wild Scotsman Country in memory of QLD’s only real bushranger, James McPherson. Gin Gin is home to the Boolboonda Tunnel which at 193m is the longest unsupported railway tunnel in the Southern Hemisphere. Whilst in town stay at the Gin Gin Central Motel or the Wild Scotsman Motor Inn. Travelling 19 kms north, turn of the Bruce Highway and you will come to Lake Monduran which is the Source of the Bundaberg Irrigation Scheme. Lake Monduran has a capacity 1.6 times Sydney Harbour and is held back by the Fred Haigh Dam. This is a great place to go swimming, sailing fishing and have picnics and BBQ’s Home price in Gin Gin are relative to the income earning capacity and there are always bargain to be found.

Blackwater

"Blackwater - Coal Mining town with unique gardens."

Blackwater is known as the Coral Capital of Queensland. The Coral from this area is exported worldwide and has a sister city in Japan call Fujisawa. Blackwater offers the visitor to see a stunning Japanese Garden and the Lions Park has one of the largest displays of international flags in the state. Blackwater is a coal mining town and other than those involved in the motels, services stations and shops etc most of the town in employed by the mine. There are some inexpensive properties for sale in the area and the town has good accommodation the motels, hotels and caravan park. Visit the Mine, the gardens and the parks as well as the natural wonders in surrounding areas.

Airlie Beach

"Airlie Beach - Great place to live, holiday and party."

Airlie Beach is known as the gateway to the Great Barrier Reef and the Whitsunday Islands. Located is North Queensland enjoy some great pastimes such as swimming, snorkeling and sailing as well as fishing, sky diving and scenic flights over the area. There is something for everyone. Resort accommodation is plentiful with all the facilities you could want and these are some great bars and restaurants around as well. As the area is a major tourist destination jobs are usually available in the hospitality industry and with such a great climate Airlie Beach is a great place to live. The price of rental properties in the area does vary as do home prices so it pays to shop around.

Yungaburra

"Yungaburra - Step back in time"

Yungaburra is a village in the Atherton tablelands about a one hour drive north of Cairns in tropical north Queensland. Many of the buildings in this town have remained unchanged since 1910 and with 18 heritage listed building it is the record for Queensland. Although building wise as well as old fashion courtesy and politeness it is like stepping back in time, Yungaburra offers some great restaurants and cafes as well as art and crafts shops and galleries. There is good accommodation in town with motels, B&B’s and guesthouses. There are walking and bike riding trails as well as picnic areas for the whole family.

Woombye

"Woombye - plenty of history to learn about"

Woombye is on the Sunshine Coast approximately 100kms north of Brisbane and was once the staging post for the Cobb and Co Coaches. The town was once called Cobb’s Camp. The local pub is 209 years old and the Woombye Soccer club called the Snakes is the oldest on the Sunshine Coast. The area is also home to the big Pineapple. There are many arts and crafts to be seen as well as many shops for your basic needs. There is accommodation at the motels and there is a seafood and takeaway store as well. Being so close to the Sunshine Coast home prices are a little on the expensive side.

Woolooga

"Woolooga - very small town with good community spirit."

Woolooga is North West of Gympie about 16 kms from Kilkivan is the South Burnett region and is a cattle area. Woolooga has some very good real estate prices for the home buyer with houses on acreage very popular, but rentals are scarce here. Woolooga has both primary and secondary schools with children participating in sports such as swimming, athletic etc, as well as musical persuits and a variety of shops for your convenience. There is great accommodation at the Staple House B& B with good rates. Naturally the Woolooga Pub does a roaring trade and the locals here are very friendly.

Wondai

"Wondai - excellent house prices in and around the town."

Wondai is 230 kms North West of Brisbane in the South Burnett region. A large cattle and grain area Wondai has a good community spirit and boasts carefully manicured parks and gardens and many heritage listed buildings as well as museums and galleries. There are plenty of shops and there is no shortage of accommodation options with motels and hotels as well as caravan parks. Enjoy a game of golf or bowls then cool off with a swim in the local pool. There are good restaurants and cafes as well as pubs and bars. There are some excellent real estate buys to be had in Wondai including basic three bedroom homes or homes on acreage.

"Witta - Small hamlet with a long history"

Not far from the town on Maleny is the small town of Witta. Located in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland, Witta was first settled by German immigrants. This tiny town has one general store. The old general store and the old school is further down the road and make an interesting stop. There is a recreation Club which also has attached playing fields and children’s playground. Witta offers some great views of the surrounding area and a visit to the old cemetery offers an insight into the town originally inhabitants and their descendants. Property prices vary whilst Maleny offers great accommodation for the tourist as well as fast food outlets and restaurants.

Winton

"Winton - Outback town with plenty of history."

Winton is located 900 ms west of Rockhampton and was originally known as Pelican Waterhole. The area has several claims to fame such as Australian Bush Poetry as it is in Winton that AB Patterson wrote Waltzing Matilda. Just as important is the fact that Winton is also the birthplace of Qantas which was started here in 1920. For those interested in archeology, the skeleton of the largest dinosaur found in Australia, called a sauropd, was uncovered in Winton. Visit the opal fields, Arno’s wall and visit the Mitchell Grass Plains and see Coolabah trees and Prickly Acacia. There are plenty of shops for all your needs and accommodation in offered in caravan and camping parks, motel and hotels. There are restaurants and clubs serving good quality meals.

"Yeppoon - Coastal paradise"

Yeppoon is located 40km east of Rockhampton on the Central Queensland Coast. Being a seaside resort, Yeppoon offers great long stretching beaches and is close to Great Keppel Island not far off shore. There is a plentiful supply of shops as well as a good choice of accommodation facilities to suit all tastes and budgets. Go swimming, snorkeling and diving or take a horse ride. Visit the Capricorn Caves and the Capricornia Cays national park. Being a coastal area Yeppoon's home prices are forever increasing but you can still pick up a good bargain if you want to live in this paradise.

Rockhampton is located on the Fitzroy River, about 40 km inland from the mouth of the river, 600 km north of Brisbane and 1100 km south of Cairns. Although the population of less than 80 000 and the entire region, Rockhampton Australia is a major regional center, the last stop on many trains in Brisbane, where the university, a library and a new function in the self proclaimed capital of beef from Australia. The latter or Rockhampton Australia is born by larger than life bull statues greeting visitors from all approaches.

"Robina - getting too expensive to rent or buy"

Robina is in the middle of the Gold Coast surrounded by the coastal areas and the Gold Coast Hinterland and is one of the affluent suburbs in this area. Close to the motor way Robina offers a great shopping centre and is the terminus for the Queensland Rail southern line. Robina is also the bus depot for those traveling south to meet up with the NSW rail line at Casino. Robina is a short drive to the beaches or the theme parks further north. There are motels and hotels offering good accommodation. Home prices in the area reflect the amenities available and the new homes in the area.

my husband is going to the bond university this year ere looking for a nice 4 bedroom home with a yard uipto460 a week but robina is so expensive, can u recomend anywere close please or does anyone have rental as we are moving from mid north coast and ive not yet found a nice hoe to raise our family hile Aorone studies

"Willow Vale - Growing area with new homes."

Willow Vale is located in the Gold Coast on the boarder of the Hinterland yet only 7kms from the motor way and Dream World. Willow Vale offers some lovely scenery and one of the major draw cards of the area is its peace and quiet whilst still close to all Gold Coast amenities. There is good accommodation at Ruffles Lodge and The Golden Door health Retreat. Many of the homes in the area a newer style with more housing estates being built and as a consequence home prices are on the rise as demand increases. Willow Vale is far enough way for a quiet lifestyle yet close enough to get to all amenities of the Gold Coast.

"Warwick - Wester City with gowing community"

Warwick is nestled between the Great Diving Range and very fertile farmlands. Situated 160 kms south west of Brisbane Warwick offers some great examples of historical buildings which were constructing of local sandstone. Warwick is often referred to as ‘Rose and Rode City’ as it hosts many rodeos including a very large, old rodeo every October. In stark contrast, this city has the most beautiful rose gardens and when in flower the whole city comes alive with roses. There are many galleries and museums to see and Leslie dam is only 13 kms from the city and is good for swimming. Property prices are not too bad with some good bargain not too hard to find but like prices are on the rise.

"Varsity Lakes - Inland from coast but close to all amenities"

Varsity Lakes is a suburb of the Gold Coast and whilst not directly on the coast it is only a short drive to the famous Gold Coast beaches. Varsity Lakes is close to the Robina Shopping Town with supermarkets and specialty shops but yet is only minutes away from the major shopping centre of Pacific Fair where there is not only great shopping but a cinema complex as well. Accommodation is the area is plentiful with many hotels and motel, although home prices have skyrocketed. Varsity Lakes is within half an hour of the major theme parks of Dreamworld, Movieworld, Wet’n’Wild or Seaworld.

"Twin waters -Close to all amenities."

Twin Waters is on the sunshine Coast of Queensland just north of Maroochydore and is fast becoming a one of Queensland’s top tourist destinations. The area boasts world class resorts as well as international golf resorts. There are water sports of all kinds including swimming, surfing, diving and snorkeling. Twin Waters is only minutes away from great shopping, restaurants and entertainment as well as bars, cafes and array of services and other amenities. Twin Waters is only 5 mins drive to the Sunshine Cost Airport. Real Estate prices in the area are high due and not generally suited to the first home buyer.

"Townsville - Great north city or visit or live"

Townsville is a large city located in Tropical North Queensland. Townsville has all the amenities you would expect from a city of this size, great shopping centers, schools and colleges, many sporting and recreational venues, playing field and entertainment centers. There are beautiful white sandy beaches and crystal clear blue waters, simply relax or partake in the many water sports on offer. Yet there is an amazing rainforest backdrop where you go walking the tracks to bird watch or just enjoy the diverse flora and fauna of the area. For the visitor there is no end to the accommodation options. Home prices are like those of any city varied but with the occasional bargain to be found.

What crystal clear blue water? you have to travel quite a few kilometres offshore to get away from the murky brown green water off Townsville, north and south. Yes the beaches are nice, but you can't swim here...

Looks pretty blue today! and you can't swim most places in Northern Australia thats why we have the Waterpark, Rockpool, Riverway and in coming years the new Strand Lagoon! :)

"Tarzali - Visitors will enjoy a loo around"

Tarzali is 70 kms west of Cairns in the Atherton Tablelands of tropical North Queensland. Go bushwalking in this area and you will be surrounded by lush green rainforest and see beautiful waterfalls and some amazing birdlife. There is ample accommodation is Tarzali and convenience shopping as well as many arts and crafts shops. Visit. Tarzali Lakes Aquaculture Centre where there is a great fun for the whole family with fishing, aqua golf, platypus tours, jumping castle, night fishing, camp fire and marshmallow nights, camping etc. Home prices in this area, although sound reasonable in dollar terms, seem a little over priced for the area.

"Taroom - Nice place to visit"

Taroom is located on the banks of the Dawson River 485 kms west of Brisbane and is renowned for its beef and grain as well as the forestry industry. This small town has a lot to offer with all amenities such as accommodation options is the caravan parks, motel or cabins, well stocked shops for all your needs and choice of primary schools as well as a good secondary schools. Home prices are very affordable and easily within reach of most especially the first home buyer. Visit the Working Pioneer Village as well as the Leichhardt Tree. There are many walking tracks for those who enjoy a stroll and like to see plants and the occasional animal as well as bird watching.

"Tully - Very wet and green town"

Tully is known as one of the wettest places in QLD so the vegetation around the town is a lush green for most of the year. Situated on the Bruce Highway 180 kms south of Cairns, Tully is a relatively small town and the main industry here is sugar. There are plenty of shops in Tully as well as good restaurants and take away food shops. Visit the Tully Sugar mill or The Violet Smith Park in the middle of town is a peaceful place to sit back and enjoy a coffee. Only a short distance from town you can visit Alligators Nest, a safe freshwater swimming hole with a good picnic area The Tully Gorge is another popular tourist destination especially for the white water rafter enthusiasts. Stay at the caravan park or motels during your visit or if you are intending to stay you will find home prices affordable.

"Tannum Sands - Coastal town close to Gladstone."

Tannum Sands is located 20kms from Gladstone on the Central Queensland Coast. This area is only 9 kms off the Bruce Highway and is an ideal spot for swimming, snorkeling and sail boarding with beautiful Beaches which are patrolled during the summer season. Fishing is the area is great and Tannum Sands is linked to Boyne Island by a bridge. The whole area offers plenty of accommodation options including caravan and camping park, hotels and motels. There are a number of restaurants and shopping is good. This area is very residential and offers good sporting venues and playing fields, primary and secondary schools and fairly reasonable property prices.
