I completely agree Pekeri, we moved here 6 months ago from the north-eastern suburbs and it is a total contrast. Previously I wouldn't leave the house after dark (being broken into twice didn't help) but down here you regularly see people out walking late in the evening. Everyone is very friendly and will stop to chat on the beach or if you are out walking. It's almost like being permanently on holidays. No regrets moving here.

Absolutely. Growing up our family of 5 children never had any issues and neither did any of our friends. We occasionally heard of 'someone' being followed as they walked to the station or the beach but it was never someone we knew personally and nothing ever came of it that we were aware of, if indeed it was any more than an urban fairy tale. The neighbourhood watch support in Aspendale which my dad was a part of and the sense of community was always reassuring. My disabled daughter went missing in Aspendale when visiting my parents and she was quickly found and immediately brought to the Chelsea Police station by complete strangers. There was no question of her being in danger with these strangers. I highly recommend it.
