What are the best things to do in Bedford?

The previous answer really covers a lot of the best Bedford experiences. I just want to add that it can be an interesting idea to plan a movie night at the Bedford Playhouse because this old-world theater can be a one-of-a-kind experience for those of us who have become used to multiplexes.

Head on over to the wonderful Katonah Museum which always has interesting exhibitions. Browse the plethora of adorable shops and boutiques in Katonah's village and grab a great cup of coffee at funky Noka Joe's. Be sure to catch one of the exceptional outdoor concerts held on the grounds of the beautiful Caramoor Center for Music and Arts during the summer season. The setting is idyllic. Also, a very cool afternoon for the family is a visit to Rainbeau Ridge, a sustainable farm in Bedford Hills with kids programs, cooking classes and visitable barnyard animals. For dinner, head on over to the Farmhouse, Richard Gere's superb farm to table restaurant where you may even catch a glimpse of him or stop by the more informal family-friendly Meeting House for a burger or some chili.
