Does Kyneton have a rough element to it or is this changing? What are the schools like?
We are thinking of moving to either Kyneton or Woodend - a tree change move from Camberwell. We have 2 kids and are leaning towards Woodend. My understanding is that Kyneton has had a relatively rough reputation. Is this changing? Am I wrong here? Thanks.

Either town is a lovely place to raise a family. I think everywhere is going to have a certain rough element (yes even Camberwell!) but if you are relocating from a relatively affluent suburb its not likely you will be looking at property on the lower end of the scale. Kyneton would be my choice as I find Woodend very "suburban" nowadays. Kyneton has a lot of facilities and shops and is only just over an hour from Melbourne by train. You could also try Castlemaine or up and coming Taradale, which is about 10 minutes from Kyneton.
