Melbourne vs Brisbane in summer: which is better for a heat hater?

I don't like the heat. I've lived in Brisbane my whole life and the summer is a killer (except for this past one, it wasn't too bad). My question is: while Melbourne has intense weather, does it get as stinking as Brisbane?
Don't bother telling me how terribly cold it is, as I love the cold and that's one of the reasons I want to move XD
