As there is a lot of development happening around this area and a new housing estate going up where some of the factories are (eventually - land has already been sold) I was told by a real estate agent and a local of 50+ years (who is still alive & healthy and he has one in his b/yard) that a lot of the power that WAS going through these have been re routed and now it is very low AND they will be put underground in the future (when estate is built). Prices in the area have already gone sky high, but those things are still an eye sore.

And yes, most of those lines are considered to be in Emington, the closest one to "Melrose park" is the one at the end of Wharf rd.

Isn't there still concern though for living so close to them? I was on foot exploring the local area recently and was surprised to see how close they are.
