Go to have a look at Moreton Bay - Newport, Redcliff, very very lovely places with beautiful ocean bay views and very green and clean. Weather is much nicer compared to many inland areas of Queensland. Prices are also affordable!

Have you looked at areas like Hope Island yet? You may find its more affordable than Surfers Paradise yet still close enough to everything. Depends on your budget, if you want a house and land you’ll find better value around Brisbane, I think Cleveland is quite underpriced by the bay. Or Redcliffe is lovely too. Or if you are in good health and like the warmth consider regional Qld, Bundaberg, Harvey Bay, Agnes Waters, some lovely coastal towns up north where your $ buys more home.
