"Doreen for 7 years"

We have lived here for 7 years and sadly we can’t buy here as the prices are a bit high for us but if we could we would. The top end of Doreen in quite nice as is the side along Yan Yean Rd. The bottom end along Bridge Inn Rd has not been fun to live with an increase in youth crime as confirmed by Mernda Police (someone tried to steal our car and just damaged it). Lots of dog attacks compared to some suburbs as confirmed by Whittlesea Council and some issues with road rage. Great things are the primary schools like Laurimar PS, St Paul’s etc are all good. Hazel Glen SC not so much with lots of staff suffering abuse from parents. But Ivanhoe Grammer, PVCC and Whittlesea SC are good. An amazing childcare centre at Little Flyers and all the shops are great. Good takeouts even if a bit pricey and lots of parking. Amazing parks, a small swimming school and great bus service. Lots of friendly people and interesting ones too. Lots of places for teens to work and Westfield isn’t far away on the train line. Give it a go, we have been very happy.
