Boronia

"stay away"

This aria has gone down hill rapidly over the last 5 years. The state government has put up a heap of commission houses that has braught drug addicts into the aria in droves. The local shopping mall resembles a wasteland. Assaults are commonplace. Drug deals are done in the open and the police don't care. You regularly see them go down in the McDonald's car park opposite the police station or on the road behind the police station. Yes there is a train station and busses but they are far to dangerous to use. People openly carry weapons around them. I'm so glad I have just gotten out of the aria. Unless your interests include tattoos, bikies and drug abuse, Boronia is not for you

Not great for

Ridiculous review. I've lived in the area for over 12 years, walk 15 minutes to the station (evening and night), catch the train and buses occasionally and have never felt threatened. We've never had a break in to property or vehicle or experienced any other crime unlike other areas I've lived ( Narre warren, ferntree gully and inner Sydney). There are many families here and a mix of people with professional, service or trade oriented oriented jobs. Around some of the areas near chemists you do sometimes see some people who are drug affected but that is not atypical for a larger metropolitan centre.

Absolutely ridiculous. Just unfair to a beautiful suburb. Travelling to city 5 days a week from past 2 years, police patrolling all the time.

Haha! Youre glad youre out of them. Maybe youre one of them! This is not true! We lived in the area for many years, bought a stunning townhouse last year but we shopped almost everything here. I myself even doing late night shopping as I have a 3 yr old kid. Never experience any of these stupid comments!

Well for all of the doubters..... I have held a security advisor licence for the past 11 yeas, I have a security studies degree, I am currently studying my masters in security and strategic studies. Here are the hard facts. The crim rate in Boronia rose more than 30% in the last financial year. https://www.heraldsun.com.au/leader/outer-east/drug-crimes-soar-in-knox-thefts-burglaries-up/news-story/d96e97df8df7c941577091cfd42a2bde. In 2011, there were more than 250 registered sex offenders in the suburb, which was approximately 8% of those in Victoria. https://www.heraldsun.com.au/leader/outer-east/no-new-leads-on-missing-boronia-schoolgirl-bung-siriboon/news-story/ea839719f7cb56448fdae886c2550e07
and from what I have heard, that number has doubled in the last 7 years. And if the aria around Boronia station is so safe, why has the federal government just announced over $400,00 dollars to make it safe?

To anybody who is looking to buy in the aria, have a look around the Boronia Safeway on any given afternoon. You will see what I mean

Claims to have a degree... Can't spell area. Enough said.

jason36 No one with a degree would quote Herald Sun stats; that's the main give away - more so than the spelling!
