Acacia Ridge

"We like living here."

We bought in Acacia Ridge last year. It was one of the only affordable suburbs within 15km of the city. While it doesn’t have the best reputation, we have enjoyed living here so far. Really multicultural suburb and all our neighbours are friendly.

There are parks, great local pool and local shops. It’s not the prettiest, with a lot of old housing commission homes and sometimes hoons at night but our street is great with bushland across the road and lots of beautiful birds and wildlife.

Public transport lets the suburb down but if you can drive ten minutes to the train station it only takes twenty minutes to the city, the same as driving. Hopefully public transport is improved over the next few years.

There are four schools within walking distance and lots of childcare options. Ten minutes to Calamvale/Sunnybank shopping. Fifteen minutes drive to Garden City. Five minutes to the Rocklea markets. Ten minutes to cafes, there are a couple of local quality coffee shop options- Acacia espresso is great- friendly and great coffee and Bedouin Brew on Beaudesert road is also fantastic. New cafe has opened in Rocklea across from the train station. Lots of houses are being renovated. Great place to buy for first home buyers within Brissie limits.
