Via la Selva

"Via la Selva-- Nice street for families."

I know a family that lives there, so I have visited this street hundreds of times. I like Valmonte because of the proximity to Redondo Beach and the Peninsula Center. They also get more sunshine there than some other pockets in PV. Via la Selva is a nice street. The homes are charming and not too large. The street itself is very narrow and parking can be a problem sometimes. The PVPUSD has a preschool on this street which has a large park with a baseball field. Valmonte is a popular area for kids and teenagers on Halloween. It's a great place for Trick-or-Treating; just make sure you bring a flashlight.

"Silver Saddle Lane-- High neighborly spirit."

Silver Saddle Lane is a really cute street in Rolling Hills Estates. I know a family that lives there, and everytime I am visiting, I feel like I am in the country. Once I saw a person walking her little pony down the street. Most homes on this street have steep driveways. The neighborly spirit is really high in this area. People go all out on Halloween; it's one huge party. The street is also walking distance to the elementary school.

Strawberry Ln

"Strawberry Lane-- Also known as "Peacock Lane."

Strawberry Lane is a tiny street located in Rolling Hills Estates. It is just off of Palos Verdes Drive North. Strawberry Lane is sort of famous on the Peninsula for its peacocks. When we first moved to the Peninsula we were told to check out this street. It's true, I had never seen this many peacocks on one street before. Sometimes they sit on cars parked in the street, and sometimes they eat your roses and other flowers. People on the Peninsula either love or hate the peacocks. Strawberry Lane has a real country feel to it.Many homes are lined with white picket fences. It's an area where many people ride horses.

"Academy Drive-- Next to Chadwick Academy."

Academy Drive is in the pocket known as the Palos Verdes Peninsula. It's a great street, especially if you have children attending Chadwick Academy. The academy is just around the corner. Academy Drive has a mix of older and newer homes. Many homes have pools, and they are actually a good thing to have ,since it does get much hotter here. Don't expect any ocean breezes in this area. But you also don't have to deal with the fog that you see in so many other pockets on the Peninsula.

Rousseau Ln

"Rousseau Lane-- Hotter summers than the rest of the Peninsula."

Rousseau Lane is in the pocket referred to as the Palos Verdes Peninsula. It is a desirable area since you are close to schools, freeways, and shopping. Rousseau Lane is right next to Crenshaw Blvd. which basically gets you everywhere. Some people prefer this area because it's probably 10-15 degrees warmer here during summer. Many homes have pools and they don't even have to be heated. This area has no fog since it's farther from the beach. However, some people dislike the hotter temperatures on this side of the Peninsula. Homes on this street are fairly large and some have city views. The street is wide with sidewalks. It is quiet and clean.

"Malibu Road-- Paradise in Los Angeles."

Malibu Road is great for anyone with money. Just steps away from the beach, and stunning ocean views everywhere you look. You will probably run into a few celebrities while taking a walk on the beach or going to the nearby grocery store. If you don't have to be part of the morning commute on PCH which really is brutal, then living on Malibu Road is even better. Now, all you need is $4+ million.

Paseo del Mar is considered as one of the grandest streets in Palos Verdes Estates. This street is known for its incredible ocean bluffs, parklands, and views of Catalina Island. "Via Pacheco-- Kids can walk to all schools."

If you are a family with children, you are going to love this street. Kids can walk to all schools in Lunada Bay. A friend of mine lives on this street near the Lunada Bay Shopping area. They live in a stunning home which was recently remodeled. We always parked on their street whenever we attended the annual Lunada Bay Harvest Festival. The traffic gets a bit heavy during the high school's dismissal time. Other than that, the neighborhood is quiet, safe and clean. It truly is a charming neighborhood.

"Via Cambron-- Super close to school and shopping."

A friend of mine has lived on this street for several years now. She loves it! It's perfect for her kids since they live in a cul-de-sac. It is also super close to Point Vicente Elementary School. Via Cambron is just off of Palos Verdes Drive West where it can get a bit loud, but the street tucked away nicely so you really don't get any noise there. The neighbors are very friendly to each other. It's also close to Golden Cove Shopping Center. There is a Trader Joe's and my friend does all of her grocery shopping there.

Palos Verdes Dr West

"Palos Verdes Drive West-- The prettiest drive on the Peninsula."

If you visit Palos Verdes, it is crucial to take a scenic drive on Palos Verdes Drive West and South. It is one of the prettiest drives in the entire country. This particular area has stunning ocean views. "Highridge Road-- Park, Schools, and Shopping."

Highridge Road is home to apartments, condos, townhomes and single family homes. Highridge Park is also located on this street. Ridgecrest Intermediate School can be entered from Highridge Road. There is also a gas station and a car repair shop. Highridge is close to the Peninsula Shopping Center and the Peninsula High School. At some point, Calle de Suenos becomes Crest Road, which leads to Hawthorne Blvd. The other end of Calle de Suenos turns into a private cul-de-sac with luxury homes. The homes are very large and very expensive. They have stunning, unobstructed ocean views.
