Wyndham Vale

"Growing suburb with a bright future"

Wyndham Vale has a bright future to be an even greater suburb. Been living in Wyndham vale for a couple months now and cannot find any major faults. There's amenities and transport to get around although it seems cars are the favoured transport around here. This suburb has a lot of newer estates and houses so I think it gets a bad rap but it's affordability and ever growing infrastructure may change that.

West Footscray

"The quieter side of Footscray"

Lived in West Footscray for 2 years off Essex Street and never had any unpleasantries.
Great suburb for families, lots of them on the street I lived on, they would often get together you do events which was cute (pre covid).
My only fault with west Footscray is transport sucks, the bus that runs along Essex Street was always late and west Footscray can be a bit trickier if you're not near the train station.
All in all, good suburb for families and lots of variety with parks and cafes surrounding.

What's your opinion of Essex Street in general?

Essex Street is a thoroughfare street so it gets a lot of cars coming through, so you'd hear a bit of cars I reckon. There's a dog park and cafes on the street which are great. If you're not too fussed about cars constantly driving through there I think it's fine.

Is there alot of foot traffic? Are there buses along there as well? Does the traffic build up on Essex Street

Yarraville

"Great place but owning a house is a pipe dream"

Yarraville is an awesome place, I've lived in a few inner western suburbs as well as the east and Yarraville has got to be the most community orientatated place I have ever lived in.
Currently renting here and have been for the past 3 years.
Honourable mentions to Hop Heads and Village Cantina in the Village!

Pros: cafes galore, friendly neighbourhood, lots of parks, train comes very frequently as it's a split train line and of course the cinemas!
Cons: expensive, it's unrealistic too own a home for under 1 mil...yikes, also saddly yes there's a lot of trucks so unfortunately the site isn't the best.
