Is Christies Beach a safe place to bring up a family?
What schools are nearby? What sporting facilities?
We currently live in a country area, on the edge of a growth area, in Vic. Very quiet and my children take the bus to a private school.
They also do lots of sport. Have to move to SA. So looking for similar, but by the sea! Help much appreciated.

I built a new small home 600m from the beach 2 years ago. I am surrounded by friendly caring people.
I am 70yo and live alone, but feel quite safe. I walk my dog along the beach and in the many parks and sporting grounds around this area. I love the restaurants, cafes and bakeries close by. The sea views are amazing, with beautiful clean beaches. Schools & public transport are also close by. The demographics are as wide ranging as the type of properties available in the area.
I love the life style here.
I recently moved down here from a small mining town in Central Queensland and fell in love with the place (after looking at various beach side suburbs- this was the one).
I feel very safe as a single female to walk my dog late at night and in the wee hours of the morning and use the great public transport facilities to get me to the airport for my swing ( fifo).
It’s a smaller area and a great community feel, especially if you do park run down the esplanade, take your dogs for a walk along the beach, join beach clean up groups etc.
I’m excited to relocate my family down here in a year or two and know that the schools are close and that it’s a great area.
There’s quite a few schools including a Montessori school, a couple of ovals with team sports and medical facilities as well as larger shopping centres.
