Looking for a home in Ingham?

"I like it...."

I'm a bit biased since I live here now, but Ingham is a nice multicultural town with a heavy Italian influence, leaving some to call it "little Italy". The town has decent amenities and a significant number of small boutique shops. You basically do not have to leave town for services, but Townsville is only about an hour away. House prices are relatively cheap and rental demand quite strong. Infrastructure continuing with new Woolworths building/complex, TYTO wetlands, housing and light industrial all going ahead. Talk of another mill to be built soon, to service the outlying sugar cane farms.

The town has an element of charm about it. Some Italian influences in the architecture, quite a few functioning pubs and friendly (although fiery and proud) people. Unfortunately, Ingham thrives when sugar prices are high, and is in the dumps a little when prices are low.

I think it would be an ideal place to bring up a family, as you really are spoiled for educational choice. It is in the tropics and the summer months are hot, but from April through to October, there is nowhere else I would rather be....perfect motorcycle weather.....

Awesome thanks for the info. I'm thinking of moving there, had enough of crime in Townsville and drunks fighting on the street near my unit in North Ward. Do u happen to know are crocodiles that way on the beaches or creeks?

"Ingham -Tropical town with reasonable home prices."

Ingham is just over an hour drive from Townsville and is a tropical paradise, surrounded by many National Parks. This area has much to offer with amazing birdlife, animals and wetland creatures. Take a Rainforest walks, guided tours, cruise or go kayaking. Visit the Lucinda Jetty or take a scenic flight over the area. There is good shopping in Ingham with supermarkets and major stores as well as boutique style shops, hairdressers, beauticians etc. Accommodation is plentiful in Ingham and you can choose from camping and caravan parks, hotels and motels, B& B’s etc. If living in a tropical area is for you then Ingham has plenty of opportunities.
