How busy does Portrush Rd get in peak hour?

It is very busy around school drop off/pick up time and has quite a few traffic lights.

It is a major thoroughfare, and used by a lot of trucks, so does get pretty busy in rush hour. It's generally fine to use, although I haven't often had to use it at very busy times.

I probably wouldn't choose to live on or within a block of Portrush Road myself, but obviously many people do.
