Queenstown is a great little town. The people can be friendly and the lush green mountains are picturesque but the town can be quite sexist towards both men and women.
There is females only netball and men's only football. So any man wanting to play the only other sport than football can't. The town also seems to have a predominantly female employment factor.
Other than the blatant sexism, the lifestyle can be cheap and rewarding provided you shop online and travel up the coast for food shopping.
As others have said the snow capped mountains can be very beautiful and summers are the perfect temperature not to hot or cold.
