West Footscray

"Plane noise?"

I just went to check out the neighbourhood which seemed okay, however while I was there seven planes flew overhead in the space of an hour. That sounds excessive to me. Thoughts?

Melbourne is a big city with over 5 million people so it has busy airports where it will have many planes flying over and around Melbourne. With that being said where are you hearing planes? West Footscray is 15km's away from Melbourne Airport, unless you have super hearing it seems odd that you'll be able to hear aircraft sounds from 15km's away or hear the aircraft overhead in flight which could also be a few km's overhead..

Reservoir

"There’s a reason it’s the 252nd best suburb in Melbourne!"

Seedy and unsafe. The real estate which is generally of a low quality is only overpriced because the hipsters have been forced to go beyond Northcote. I grew up there, I know it well.

Curious to know if you still live here/when you left the area?

Yeah, how long have you been gone? I left my home town in country Victoria 20 years ago and the town is nothing like it was when I lived there, actually I would feel very insecure making a comment on what its like to live there even though I grew up there! Places change, fast!

St Albans

"Scary"

Went there to check out a house. Went to the local shopping strip, there were drunks and drug addicts everywhere. It was a Saturday morning and there were men openly drinking stubbies. One guy looked off his head on drugs. Walking down the main street all you can smell is smoke and I saw a lot of obesity. Not a healthy, progressive place. I am sick of people lying on this site, most probably Real Estate agents and investors talking suburbs up for their own ends. I saw with my own eyes what was going on there and it wasnt pretty.

You've left negative reviews on several suburbs which clearly you don't live in all of them so (A) your opinion is just as useless as the real estate agents and developers that you dissed so much. (B) if you hate these grassroots suburbs so much why aren't you looking at houses in Toorak prob above you pay grade? (C) you're most not welcome in my community with that kind of attitude, please never come to St Albans again or the drugged up thugs might get ya boo!

yunn I dont have to live in a suburb to get a good idea of it. I was just reporting what I saw. I have a lot of friends in different suburbs, its important to counter all the propaganda that Real Estate agents spread to jack up the prices. Not interested in Toorak at all actually the best suburb in Melbourne is Fairfield

I live next door to Fairfield in Alphington and if you look at current crime stats for Victoria our area has one of the highest crime rates in the Melbourne area so it's extremely difficult to say either would be the best suburb in Melbourne. I've moved around and have been to many suburbs around Melbourne and can clearly tell you haven't and haven't a clue what you are talking about edelem.

Exactly Mr. Boombastic! all areas have levels of crime. Just look at the news lately about the $10million dollar house in Balwyn. It was the home to money laundry and dangerous ciminals. A new Jaguar/Merc etc in the drive doens't mean you're doing well. It can mean your image aware but rent or even a criminal or have worked hard to earn it. St.Albans has thousands of hard working lovely caring families. There are social housing and issues that come with it also. All areas of Melbourne have social housing. Blocks of flats in Malvern may have one or two purchased by the Government in them but you can't tell. So anyone bagging St. Albans has no idea what they're talking about. Perhaps they should stay in Coburg/Greenvale/Epping and enjoy it there, many cheap eats and kababs!
