"Some people need to get over themselves but otherwise a nice area."

Loved living close to bondi and the city. Some good cafes and easy public transport as well as some amazing views.

Sadly though living in a weathly area in sydney means dealing with some pretencious people who think they are better then others and can really be quiet rude, selfish and manipulative about their rude attitudes. People with money around here tend to think they are better then others. Also filled with nasty, condescending boomers.

"Beautiful spot but some of the people ruin it."

Ive lived in potts point for a year now and Beautiful location. Theres some amazing parks by the water and not too badly priced real estate. Its close to the city and great public transport. The food and bars around here are great but honestly some of the people ruin it.

Typically middle aged people and the elderly who just think their age and money puts them above everyone else and regardless of how polite you are to them they will just turn your noses down at you when you are walking on the street and can be extremely egotistical. They push inline at the shops and then make out as if you’re some disrespectful millenial and unfortunately a lot of businesses will cater their services to these customers. I once accidentally cut in line in front of an elderly person and even though countless apologies where made on my part just got head shakes and eye rolls from service staff and people around me. Im in my 30s but look very young for my age and just spoken to like Im a teenager or a child around here and every next person here is calling you darling in a patronising way.

I used to be a member on the local facebook page here too which was pretty much just a bunch of childish boomers acting like they were on the school yard playground fighting over run ins with their dogs and other peoples dogs or people not wearing masks and no posts from younger people where ever approved.

The hotel staff around here are extremely condescending too.

Theres also people on the main strip off their faces on ice and it can be a bit seedy.

I have never lived in a suburb where people can be so stuck up and who will then tell anyone who calls it out that its their attitude and if you arent as rude as them you dont fit in. Its a shame because its really such a nice location.

"If you can deal with ageist seniors you’ll be fine."

Such a great area with really nice cafes and italian food as well as access to supermarkets. Properties are reasonably priced too but its a bit dirty and some of the people are very strange.

its also definitely not an area for young people. Im 28 but look quiet young (some people say 21) and the amount of ageist and stereotyping seniors I deal with who just hate you for no reason and are so nasty and entitled is ridiculous. It really ruins the area.

I experienced this from time to time but I think change brings a sense of uneasiness for the elderly. I also agree some people act very strange (and seem like they are on the Moon, not Earth) but this might be the same for the rest of InnerWest haha!

"Unfriendly"

I love the area itself, lots of great cafes and water views, close to the city and reasonably priced real estate with views but its a really unfriendly area. If you're young you have to deal with rude middle aged boomers that pick fights and complain all day about young people in the area because they want to tell young people how they should act and always get stuck dealing with some who want to speak to you like they're your parent. Not to mention the amount of homeless people in the area - Have been street harassed and verbally abused and had some men follow me trying to intimidate me or look me up and down in really inappropriate ways and have made me feel uncomfortable. Recommend caution for younger women.
