Pollution so close to Kwinana

I love the cheap prices but i heard a rumour about the concrete dust and smell being so close to Kwinana refinery. What's the reality when the sea breeze kick up? does concrete dust come through the aircon, does it smell in the area? is there a link to cancers? love to hear from the locals.
