You can't throw a rock without hitting a great restaurant in the Mission. NightOwl lists some nice ones - here are some others: Beretta (Italian/American - great cocktails), Schmidt's (German), Locanda (Italian), Rhea's Deli on Valencia (great sandwiches - get one and head to Dolores Park!), Saison (French), Osha (Thai). You can't go wrong with any of these and the above. I'd hit up yelp and just see what looks yummy to you. Happy eating!

The best Mission District restaurants? Wow, there are so many. Here are the ones that the locals I know think are the best in no particular order:

1. Delfina, for Italian
2. Foreign Cinema, for dates (has a movie projected on the wall)
3. the Range, very cool American food
4. Limon for Peruvian Barbecue
5. Chez Spencer for French
6. Bar Tartine for Breakfast and Brunch
7. Tokyo Go-Go for Sushi
8.Little Star Pizza
9. Old Jerueselem for Mediterranean
10. Udupi Palace for Indian

But really there are another 30 places I could easily put on this list and still miss about half the places that locals consider to be the best.
