"Quiet, safe, spacious"

We have lived in Wantirna for a few months now and are finding it okay. It is lovely and quiet, spacious, and safe for families. However, be prepared to drive everywhere to get around. It lacks the charm and character of the inner suburbs, and feels very far away from the city! But is perfectly fine as an area otherwise.

"Peaceful, Lovely Suburb"

I stayed in Reservoir for a short time and found it to be a quiet, lovely suburb. Not much going on and you'd need a car to get around, but overall nice and tidy.

St Kilda

"Fun, Funky, Beachy and Relaxed"

I've lived in St Kilda for the past year and overall really like it! There are some certain streets to avoid as they're pretty dodgy, and as a female I wouldn't feel safe walking around alone after 9:30 at night. But otherwise it's a fun, vibrant area with some beautiful streets and a really laidback culture. If you pick the right street in St Kilda you'll be looking at green, lush, leafy living with magnificent houses and lovely families and young couples as neighbours. Lots of great shops and cafes too, and a beautiful beach that's perfect for walks before work.

What are some streets you would avoid? I am a female planning to move there , it would be helpful to know the areas to avoid.

I lived there a few years ago now, but back then I would avoid Fitzroy Street (apart from the north end which is lovely), Grey Street, and Acland Street. Individual streets in St Kilda can vary a lot in terms of their atmosphere, so I would recommend checking them out prior if possible. The streets immediately by the beach, near the botanic gardens, in St Kilda West, and on the edge of Elwood are all lovely.
