"Landsborough - Cose to Sunshine Coast, buy now."

Landsborough is less than an hour’s drive from Brisbane and is just 20 mins from the wonderful beaches of the Sunshine Coast. Landsborough offers the visitor and local alike plenty to see and do including the Big Kart Track and Bungy Bullet, the museum and arts centre as well as some classic historic buildings as well. Landsborough is close to the famous Australia Zoo where you can spend a day enjoy all this park has o offer. Stay at the Landsborough Caravan Park or Landsborough Pub or head into Caloundra. Being so close to the Sunshine Coast, home prices are rising as the demand for quality homes increases.

"Lamington National Park - Put this on your must see list."

Lamington National Park is situated in the Gold Coast Hinterland within easy reach of major facilities and Gold Coast beaches... At the southern end of the Scenic Rim, Lamington National Park is part of the Gondwana Rainforests of Australia World Heritage Area and offer some great bushwalking experiences. Starting at Canungra you can visit Binna Burra, Green Mountain and O'Reilly's. Accommodation is available at the lodges at both Binna Burra Mountain Lodge and O’Reilly’s Rainforest Retreat where you can enjoy all the luxuries including organized guided walks and tours, great views and health spas. If you are looking at living near this great area without the coast and hustle and bustle of the coast, look at Canungra for some good land and house bargains.

"Kooralbyn - Ideal place to buy property now."

Kooralbyn is a town situated on the Scenic Rim in the Gold Coast Hinterland. Meaning the Place of the Copperhead Snake, Kooralbyn is 22kms from Beaudesert. Kooralbyn is well known for its Golf Resort but the town offers lakes, swimming pool, skydiving, bowls and equestrian events. Accommodation is available at the resort or one of the motels or caravan parks nearby. Close to so many major towns your choice of shopping locations is up to personal preference with good shopping at the Billabong Centre at Kooralbyn. Home prices at stable at present but with new developments set to begin these prices will rise significantly in the near future.

Kilkivan

"Kilkivan - Great to enter the property market"

Kilkivan is a small town surrounded by hilly country, yet it is with reach of the coast. Situated 286 kms North West of Brisbane, but only 53 kms from Gympie. The town has parks and heritage buildings to see and as well as paying a visit to the museum, Prophet Gold Mine and Fat Hen Farm. There are a number of interesting drives around the local countryside. Don't worry about accommodation Kilkivan has guest houses, hotels, motel, farm stays and a well appointed caravan park. There are good food outlets and home prices in the area are generally quite affordable and with reach of the average family.

Innisfail

"Innisfail - Close to Cairns and Hinchinbrook Island"

Innisfail is only 88 kms south of Cairns. This is an agricultural area growing sugar cane, fruits and vegetable and is well known for bananas. There is always work to be done in this area. Visit Cane Cutter Way, Johnstone's Crocodile Park, take one of the many guided tours available or arrange a trip to Hinchinbrook Island. There are also some good wineries and eateries in the area. Accommodation wise you can take your choice depending on taste and budget. With affordable house prices this is a great place to buy and the rental market is good as well. Innisfail has all the amenities you could need and is a great town with friendly locals.

bridgetp2 Single mum wouldn't be a problem in Innisfail. Be prepared to go to Cairns from time to time when you need certain things. Innisfail doesn't have much choice for shopping. It does have the basics though and more than some tiny towns. The pace of life is slow.

@Ted Norman. Are you on the local council? You seem to be hell bent on shooting down any and all criticism of the town to a point that comes across as highly disingenuous. People are entitled to their views, and the fact there are a considerable number of people on here voicing their concerns lends credence to the fact there are issues in the area, no matter how much you may way to jackboot up and down policing the site. You're actually undermining your own arguments by your strident and oft-repeated tone of delivery.

Ingham

"Ingham -Tropical town with reasonable home prices."

Ingham is just over an hour drive from Townsville and is a tropical paradise, surrounded by many National Parks. This area has much to offer with amazing birdlife, animals and wetland creatures. Take a Rainforest walks, guided tours, cruise or go kayaking. Visit the Lucinda Jetty or take a scenic flight over the area. There is good shopping in Ingham with supermarkets and major stores as well as boutique style shops, hairdressers, beauticians etc. Accommodation is plentiful in Ingham and you can choose from camping and caravan parks, hotels and motels, B& B’s etc. If living in a tropical area is for you then Ingham has plenty of opportunities.

"Urangan - Ideal place to live or visit"

Urangan is the gateway to Fraser Island and is a suburb of Hervey bay which is famous for whale and dolphin watching tours and attract tourists from all over the world. Urangan has a very long pier which attracts tourists and is a great place to drop a line. Safe swimming in the protected waters of the bay is great for families. Trips to Fraser Island leave at regular intervals. Activities around the area include but are not limited to, the Shark Museum, Putt Putt golf, Go Kart racing, water slides, horse riding, nature walks etc. There is plenty of accommodation options including large resort style or camping and there are a large number of shops and cafes along the foreshore and larger shopping centers in Hervey Bay proper. Considering the great location house prices at Urangan are reasonable as too are rentals.

"Hayman Island - Loose your cares and enjoy"

Hayman Island is in the Whitsundays just off the coast, with the nearest airport being on Hamilton Island 15 kms away. Tours either by boat or air over the Great Barrier Reef are popular and can be arranged through the resort. The crystal clear waters make for great snorkeling and diving. Exploring the tropical inland of the island makes a change from the beach. Resort style accommodation is available on Hayman Island offering many packages for individual, couple, families and business groups with convention rooms and facilities available. There are a number of swimming pools at the resort as well as 9 hole putting green, tennis courts and some great bars.

"Gympie - Intersting town with plenty of activity"

Gympie is located between Nambour and Maryborough on the Bruce Hwy. Gympie is an old Gold Mining Town and one of the major attractions is the Historical and Mining Museum. Also of interest are the Woodworks, Forestry and Timber Museum. Gympie has some lovely parks and lakes and being close to the coast you can drive to nearby Rainbow Beach or further on to Hervey Bay. Your accommodation needs are taken care of by your choice of motels or caravan parks. There are good shopping facilities in the area as well as sporting and recreational pursuits. Property prices in Gympie were stagnant for a long time but are now on the rise.

"Great Keppel Island - Luxury accommodation in a relaxing atmosphere."

Great Keppel Island is situated in the Great Barrier Reef group off the Capricorn Coast a short distance off shore from Yeppoon. Most of the island is a National Park and is a great place to relax. You can swim, snorkel or dive the pristine waters, there are even motorized canoes to play around in. You can sometimes see the dolphins that often pass. Take leisurely walks along the beach or one of the many walking tracks in the inland bush and be amazed at the bird and wildlife including possums, goannas and blue tongued lizards. Accommodation to suit all from camping to 5 star resorts offering luxury facilities for the whole family.

"Goondiwindi - Birthplace of Gunsynd"

Goondiwindi Situated on the NSW/Qld Border. The town is situated on the McIntyre River and is a major agricultural area with a various crops including cotton and corn. Beef and wool production are the main stays of the economy. Goondiwindi is best known as the birthplace of the famous racehorse, Gunsynd, affectionately known as the “Goondiwindi Grey”. Boobera lagoon is 20 kms west and is home to many birds and aquatic creatures. Excellent accommodation options including B & B's, caravan and camping park, a motor inn and pub style accommodation. The town offers some great shopping facilities and is an ideal place to buy a property with home prices still affordable for most.

The Surfers Paradise is a popular tourist destination south of Brisbane and is famous worldwide for its beaches and theme parks. There is something for everyone at Surfers. Indulge in all manner of water sports; visit the many theme parks which offer great entertainment for the whole family. There are many tours and attractions to keep everyone occupier. Take tours into the hinterland and explore nature’s beauty. Accommodation is in abundance from backpackers to total resorts and everything in between. In recent years, property prices have risen dramatically with prices for apartments, town houses and family homes now as expensive as Brisbane City and in some cases higher. Rentals too have gone through the roof with the cost of living getting higher. Shopping though is in abundance with many malls and major centers. Places to eat are very varied with local and international cuisine of your choice.

"Godwin Beach - Relax in peace close to the city."

Godwin Beach at Deception Bay just north of Brisbane. Situated at the northern edge of Deception Bay, Godwin beach is an ideal location for people to enjoy the peace and quiet but still be within reach of a major city. Here you can enjoy fishing and crabbing and the remoteness of this area makes it perfect for photographers and bird watching. Accommodation is plentiful in surrounding areas including B & B's at Deception bay and motel style at Bribie Island etc. For those looking to stay permanently in this area property prices are good for the owner occupier or investor with fair rental returns. Good shopping at Deception Bay with schools and medical centers make this an ideal spot.

You will see the Glass House Mountains long before you get there. Situated in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland west of Caloundra the Glass House Mountains are a majestic sight. Mountain biking, mountain running and abseiling are all popular here. For those who like to take things a little easier enjoy some of the many walks, partake in some estuary fishing or just enjoy the scenery. Stay at a guest house, B & B, motel, camping ground or one of the lodges in the area, all offering great accommodation or stay in Caloundra in a luxurious hotel. Property prices in the area are moving up but it is still possible to get into the market.

"Gladstone - Great rest stop close to the water."

Gladstone is on the Central Coast of Queensland south of Yeppoon. From Gladstone it is a hop skip and jump to the many islands dotting the Great Barrier Reef. Tours are run daily. Enjoy the clean beaches or partake in some fishing. Fishing charters are readily available to suit most anglers. Gladstone offers many sporting clubs and associations and has a good sized entertainment centre as well plenty of shopping facilities. There is no end to the accommodation options at Gladstone, from backpacker hostels to motels, cabins and resorts and purchasing a property in Gladstone is still with reach whilst rentals are quite affordable.

Eumundi is located just north of Nambour in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland and offers a village like atmosphere. Famous for its markets which are held each Wednesday and Saturday, Eumundi is flooded with many people from surrounding districts as well as visitors all eager for a bargain. There are many other things to see and do around Eumundi including a visit to the art galleries, heritage listed buildings, wineries and the Eumundi museum. Stay at one of the B & B's or guest houses which offer country style accommodation. Being close to the larger shopping centers at Nambour, Eumundi is a great place to live and is within easy reach of the pristine Sunshine Coast beaches.

"Emerald - Perfect place to fossick or fish."

Emerald is about 263 kms west of Rockhampton on the central Queensland coast. Here you can see the Largest Sunflower in the world mural, the pioneer cottage museum complex or take a coal mine or cotton gin tour. From Emerald you can go fishing at Lake Maraboon or visit the gem fields, but you must obtain a fossickers licence. Fossicking equipment can be hired. The area offers plenty of accommodation options. For those wishing to live in Emerald, it is a generally young population offering modern sporting and recreation venues, good schools and there is modern housing available with some good buys to be had to suit most budgets. Rental accommodation is not over priced either.

"Elliott Heads - Great place to get in quick."

Elliott heads is situated only 15 mins from Bundaberg and has both surf and calm swimming waters at the rivers mouth. Elliott Heads is the perfect destination for the whole family is many water sports on offer including; boardsailing and jet skiing as well as the ever popular, fishing. Explore the nearby areas of Avondale and Bargara and see the turtle hatchery at Mons Repos Conservation Park. There are also the Mystery craters to see between Bundaberg and Gin Gin. There are excellent camping and caravan facilities for your accommodation needs. Elliott heads has up until now been largely undiscovered but with more people becoming aware of all this area has to offer, land and house prices are set to rise dramatically.

"Dunk Island -Perfect to relax and get away from it all"

Dunk Island is a short 45 min flight from Cairns and is just off the coast from Mission Beach and there is plenty to do for most people visiting the island. Other than enjoying the great beaches you can enjoy pastimes such as; bird and butterfly walks, rainforest to reef tours, golf, fishing tours, tennis, snorkeling sky diving and all manner of entertainment both day and night. There is plenty of resort style accommodation offering luxury accommodation. There is a caravan park situated at nearby Mission Beach that also has units, swimming pool and many other facilities. Dunk Island is protected and there are no private properties.

"Daintree - World heritgae listed area"

The Daintree is the area Known as the Daintree Rainforest and is a heritage listed area. The Daintree Rainforest starts at the Daintree River and reaches to Cooktown in the north, extending west as far as the Great Dividing Range. There is plenty to see and do such as explore the many walks and see native flora and fauna, experience the pristine beaches, go horse riding, enjoy many water sports or take a guided tour. Accommodation choices include luxury resorts as well as Eco Lodges with both offering great amenities. Property can be purchased in nearby Port Douglas but be prepared to pay top price for the benefit of living in this natural wonderland.
