Rochedale

"Live like royalty in Rochedale"

Rochedale is by far one of the best places to secure land if you are looking for acreage. For the simple fact that if you drive past there you will see some giant mansions and estates on 1, 2 or 20+ acres of land. There are quite a few houses in Rochedale that are like small private resorts only minutes to the highway unis and the cbd. Check out some mega mansions in Rochedale!

Eight Mile Plains

"Great property close to highway"

Big fan of Eight Mile Plains with its big blocks and brand new construction. I visted a client there once and the home was just so amazing. If you want reasonably priced homes then look no further than EIght Mile Plains. Also great location close to uni's and not to far from the city form the highway.

Wavell Heights

"Wavell Heights just to far out from CBD"

Welcome to Traffic Heights, imagine getting caught in peak hour traffic coming home form the city of Brisbane. It could take you 40 minutes or so. With that and the cost of fuel being so high i would be living closer toward the CBD

If you work in the CBD and are locked into a 9 to 5 work period, then I can't think of any suburbs which would have much less traffic. Wavell Heights is no worse for this than anywhere else, and moving closer in will mean a more expensive house. Use public transport! there are plenty of train stations nearby (Geebung, Virginia, Northgate, Nundah, Toombul, Eagle Junction)

eddie64

I live in Wavell and my son goes to school in the city so I travel every morning in peak traffic, avoiding sandgate road the longest it has ever taken me is 27minutes to get from home to city and the slowest part of that journey was from the windsor to city (15+min) which is less then 4k from city so the closer doesnt always mean less travel time. One of the joy's of Wavell Heights is the amount of alternate roads that you can take that take you directly to the city without the bumper to bumper fuel consuming traffic.

I must say i really do like paddington wih its big blocks and old majestic homes. Combined with its central location so very close to the city CBD on 8-10 minutes.

Close to all needs ands wants Paddington use to be one of the best suburbs of Brisbane 20 year ago in my opinion.

Surfers Paradise

"Have to agree with Click Writer"

I read Click Writers review on Surfers Paradise and it really does tend to be the place you dread and hate to go and only go when forced by a friends birthday. Really the locals hate it to many holiday people running a muck.

Now Broad Beach is in the spotlight with clubs like Platinum or lounge bars like Koi where you can have a nice civilized an enjoyable night out.

Nundah

"North Brisbane awakened?"

In the past i did not care much for the north side of brisbane although now you see people renovating old workers cottages of homesteads and bringing them back to life. It will be interesting to see what happens suburbs like Nundah over the coming years.

Brisbane (CBD)

"All round Brisbane is my favourite!"

Ok this is only my own personal opinion although i tend to believe if you want bang for buck you head to Brisbane! It just has everything! Not to mention entertainment Parklife festival and Brisbanes famous river fire.

SO many places to go for night life, Fortitude Valley, New Farm, Brisbane City, Southbank or a big night out at the casino!

Prices for everything in Brisbane all seem lower than elsewhere on the East Coast. Come move here today and see what Brisbane can offer you.

Heal Street

"N-E end has skyline views"

I tend to think the top North East end of this street is prime property in New Farm because that side is elevated and some properties once new home has been construced or home raised and restumped by some like Drake homes would enjoy magnificent views!

Kingsholme Street

"Great to drive past amazing street!"

This street in New Farm actually reminds me of when i was growing up in Mosman in Sydneys North Shore. That is because the street has grand old ladys that still stand today on Kingsholme and most are refurbished. Towards the end of Annie street, the corner block is just to die for!!!!

Literally my dream home without a doubt..

I would take a picture from the outside although unsure if i can do so without owners permission

Ashgrove

"Ashgrove is an elevated leafy subrub"

Ashgrove is elevated and some home sites even have city skyline views. In my opinion Ashgrove and New Farm are the cities hottests suburbs for bargains. In Ashgrove you can buy properties at good prices when you think about how close you really are to the city.

Ashgrove homes site sell between 600-800K on large 600-1000 sqm alotments!

8.5/10 is my rating of this suburb

"Robina is booming!!"

Robina is blasting ahead of other suburbs thanks to developments such as the robina stadium and redevelopment of robina shopping centre. Lots of commercial purchase/lease opportunites for small business owners wanting to buy affordable commercial space.

Robina is becoming the new centre of the Gold Coast and more and more people are moving to Robina almost every year.

"Varsity has cheap new homes!"

Varisty lakes has cheap new homes with good rental returns from university students. Bond university recieves new international students every semester that are eager to find accomodation close to uni.

Now Varsity lakse has become commercial/residental with new commercial/retail developments popping up all over varsity. Many businesses are basing themselves there and restaurants and cafes too!

Property prices vary from $30000+ for units $400000+ for houses/townhouses

Kangaroo Point

"Great views and wonderful location"

You may be lucky enough to afford a nice apartment with views in the kangaroo point if so im sure its a great view. Although Kangaroo point may not be in the right in the heart or nroth side or inner city of brisbane, it is blessed with having unrealistic views.

It faces the city directly so and night you get to see everything from the towers to Story Bridge (depending on your view). Great walkways to to take the dog or go for an early evening jog.

Annie Street

"Annie St. is Teneriffic!"

With Annie street close to Teneriffe hill makes this location highly sought after and desirable location. Some houses in this street either have views or have to potential to redevelop and get views. I must say i remember going through a property in this street with Doug from Remax . It was to dies for and definately good buying. Although another interested party stepped in and purchased it before i was able. Absolute bummer i rate Annie St. for value and position 10/10 LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION

Sydney Street

"Sydney street is full of charm!"

Sydney St is long and runs along New Farm park where on the weekend you will see people walking the dog, having picnics, playing footsal or soccer or just enjoy time with the kids and going to the playground.

Close to the River, ferries, buses, restaurants, shopping and cafes in Merthyr St. as well as oodles of great options for dinner, lunch, brekky our just a coffee along Brunswick st.

I know Glenn Gracie is selling a charming little cottage in Sydney st. at the moment...just wish i had to funds, may be a great pick up for someone!

Milton

"Miltons combination of cafes and commerce"

Milton is a unique suburb in brisbane with cafes where you can sit outside and enjoy to sun. Clos to Universities, medical facilities, the city and night life. Its position is great for long term growth if looking to buy as an investor.

The only downside is the access to the highway and Gold and sunny coast overall i would rank it a 7.5/10.

Port Douglas

"Great lifestyle too expensive to live"

Port Douglas with its resorts and idylic location is perfect for that romantic getaway your week stay with the family. Although it is good for holidays and tourists not so good for people looking to purchase here as property is still quite high.

I guess being so close to Cairns make this an easy destination for tourists to visit when in Cairns.

3 out of 5 are you joking?!?!? Port Douglas is one of THE most beautiful cities in Australia. To say it's anything less that 4 out of 5 is a bit harsh I think!

Sure its a great place to visit AJ could not agree more. My question to you is would you live there permanently or invest in property in Port Douglas? The amount of mates i have lost money out that way..

AdamS
AdamS

I actually do live in Port Douglas 3-6 months throughout the year and I would recommend it to anyone. The only reason I don't live up there permanently is because of work, but if I had the choice I would.

I just think a 3 out of 5 is a tough review based on investment quality that's all.

Pete......Mate, I have sold and bought and sold and bought real estate in Port Douglas and surrounding areas over the past 10 years and lived in the area for 20 years. I am also a real estate agent in the area and I have seen heaps of clients do very well in investments over the years. I have also seen people do badly in their investments. It does not mean that Port Douglas is a bad place to invest or live. Investments made from solid advice and sound decisions usually do well. If you or your friends would like some of that knowledge on investing in Port Douglas and surrounding areas feel free to contact me...David Cotton, 0417 709 667 @ Raine & Horne Mossman/ Port Douglas

Buderim is west of Mooloolaba and only 15-20 minutes drive to shopping and beaches. Definately more suited to retirees looking to unwind kick back and soak in the views from the mountain top. Although can be a perfect escape for you and your partner away from the kids!

"From Coolangatta to Kirra the beaches are golden!"

From Coolangatta to Kirra the beaches are golden!

Some of the best surf in the entire world. Snapper Rocks, Kirra beach, Cooly Beach and the tweed river make this ones of the nicest places to retire. In the past few years lots of developments have been built along the beachside and beachfront. In particular Niecon has released an amazing product for example Nirvana and Reflections are just flawless.

Time and time again Niecon has proven its longevity within the market as one of queenslands leading developers. Niecon seems only to build the creme de la creme. Hats off guys keep up the good work, i especially love Reflections.
